Why does powerful Discrete Event
Simulation software cost so much?
Until now the answer was that many tens of man-years
of development effort has been invested in bringing
to market complete proprietary solutions, with home
grown user interface, language, charting capabilities
etc. In many cases the development effort has been
further diluted by simultaneously supporting versions
for many different operating systems.
A more serious consequence of completely bespoke simulation
software is that modellers have to be intensively
trained in their use, and then have to specialise
to fully exploit their nascent skill. Identifying,
training and retaining modellers is a major concern
for prospective users of simulation.
Choosing the right
simulation tool is crucial. We at iBright Ltd
have many years experience in the development and
application of Discrete Event Simulation. As pragmatic
users of simulation we know what is essential, what
is useful and what is merely padding.
Our product portfolio has been planned to address
the simulation requirements of a diverse range of people.
All our simulation products are constructed using baseSim
our Object-Oriented suite of simulation add-in components
for Delphi or Microsoft Visual Studio.
"A designer knows when he
has arrived at perfection not when there is no
longer anything to add, but when there is no longer
anything to take away"
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
For the first time there is no compromise in the choice
of simulation software.
